Our Youth Leader and Team management were able to follow up with a Board of Ed and Freeholder, after they visited the August 27th virtual celebration program. They are committed to continuing to listen to youth voices and to entertain their thoughts in decision making processes, not just as ‘token youth’. We know that the Mayor, the City and our other stakeholders are also awaiting our next steps so they can participate. The City consultant for the 10 year plan offered one of our youth an internship and wants to mentor her in Community Planning. Our youth are not only getting offered internships but they’ll be interviewing candidates for the Mayor’s Council, this is a great example of the leadership skills they have learned during the grant period.
